RedRadar Guide

Reddit monitoring with RedRadar

How RedRadar matches new Reddit posts to your product, using target terms, intent terms and exclusions.

RedRadar helps indie founders review new Reddit posts that may be relevant to their product. Configure one product monitor, choose up to three communities, and add up to five matching rules. The default communities are r/SaaS, r/SideProject, and r/Entrepreneur.

What a rule matches

A post must contain both a target term and an intent term. Target terms describe your product category or a competitor. Intent terms describe the question you want to find, such as a request for a recommendation or an alternative. Exclusions take priority: a matching exclusion rejects the post even if target and intent terms are present.

For example, a target term such as “Jira” paired with an intent term such as “alternative” can help you find discussions about alternative tools. These are matching signals, not proof that the author will buy your product. Read the original discussion before responding, and follow the community rules.

Scan and delivery cadence

The service is designed to scan new top-level posts every 15 minutes. It does not scan comment threads or promise an instant notification when someone posts. Scanning depends on the configured collection and classification services being available.

Matched posts appear in your private dashboard inbox. The inbox can refresh every 60 seconds; refreshing the inbox does not start another Reddit scan. Telegram is optional and is not required to use the inbox or activate the trial. The daily lead/alert limit is 10.

Trial and paid access

The 7-day trial starts after you save a valid monitor configuration, not merely when you create an account. The advertised paid option is a $15 one-time access pass for 30 days, without automatic renewal. Checkout depends on payment service configuration. An unavailable integration does not mean payment or delivery succeeded.

Try the sample first

The interactive preview uses labeled sample posts. It does not demonstrate that live Reddit scanning is active. Use the quickstart to configure your own monitor, or read troubleshooting if results do not appear.

A practical Reddit monitoring checklist

Start with one product or category that you can explain clearly. Choose communities where the people you want to help already ask questions, then write rules that reflect the language they actually use. A target term can be a product name, competitor, or category phrase; an intent term can describe recommendations, alternatives, or a concrete pain point. Use exclusions for predictable noise such as recruiting, giveaways, or unrelated announcements.

RedRadar is designed to reduce research time, not replace judgment. Open the source post before responding, check its age and community context, and follow each subreddit’s rules. The dashboard shows matched public posts; it does not guarantee that an author is a buyer, that a post remains available, or that every relevant conversation will be found.

What RedRadar does not do

RedRadar does not scan comment trees, send instant alerts for every new post, or invent a successful payment when an external integration is disabled. These boundaries are intentional so the product can show honest availability and delivery states.
