RedRadar Guide

Set up your first Reddit monitor

Learn how to configure a Reddit monitoring workflow with communities, target and intent rules, exclusions and optional Telegram delivery in RedRadar.

1. Explore the labeled sample

Open the preview to see the monitor settings and inbox without signing in. Sample matches are not live leads. The preview does not send Telegram notifications or start a paid trial.

2. Create an account and open the dashboard

Create an account or sign in, then open your private dashboard. Google sign-in is optional and only appears when configured. Keep account credentials and integration keys private.

3. Describe your product and choose communities

Set the product name and the problem it solves. Choose up to three relevant communities rather than monitoring every community indiscriminately. RedRadar supports one product monitor per user. The default selections are r/SaaS, r/SideProject, and r/Entrepreneur; pick communities that fit your actual audience and follow their rules.

4. Add target, intent, and exclusion rules

Each of up to five rules combines target terms with intent terms. For an alternative-to-Jira use case, “Jira” is a target and “alternative” is an intent. Add exclusions for posts you do not want, such as recruiting or unrelated promotions. Exclusions override positive matches.

Avoid a standalone broad target like “ai” or “saas”. Supported short product terms such as “v0” use word-boundary-aware matching. Read any validation message before saving; a rejected configuration does not activate the trial.

5. Save a valid monitor

The 7-day trial begins when a valid monitor configuration is saved. Telegram is not required. If an integration is unavailable, the application shows its status rather than pretending to scan or deliver posts. The scheduled scan cadence is 15 minutes, not instant. No results can also mean no new post matched your rules.

6. Review the web inbox

Review the original post before taking action. Use the inbox status and refresh controls to check for updates; the 60-second inbox refresh does not trigger an upstream scan. Telegram alerts are currently unavailable. The web inbox works without Telegram; check the integration status before expecting any push delivery. The daily limit is 10 leads/alerts.

The $15 pass extends access for 30 days when checkout is available and payment is confirmed. It is not an automatically recurring subscription. See troubleshooting for configuration or delivery problems.

A practical first configuration

For a first test, choose one product and one or two communities instead of trying to cover the whole Reddit ecosystem. Write the product description in plain language, then create one rule for a recommendation question and one rule for a competitor alternative. Add an exclusion only when you can name the noise it removes. This makes the first set of matches easier to review and refine.

After saving, allow time for the next scheduled scan. The dashboard refreshes independently from the upstream Reddit scan, so repeatedly refreshing the page does not make a new scan happen sooner. If you see a match, open the original post and decide whether a helpful, community-appropriate response makes sense. Do not treat a match as permission to spam or as evidence of a guaranteed sale.
